The Experiential School of Greensboro, a K-8 social justice focused charter school in downtown Greensboro, North Carolina. I have additional classroom experience working in Title I schools through AmeriCorps.
Here are some work samples from my students!
For this first project, my 1-4th graders spent 6 weeks learning how to form an idea for a piece of artwork, make a plan, problem solve, and complete a project. We were inspired by artists who use ocean trash and recycled materials to make sculptures of ocean life. We discussed how artists can reuse materials like cardboard and paper and make something new, and all our materials were donated by our community!

Realistic miniature shoes made with Sculpey clay and acrylic paint. 7-8th grade students had to select a real shoe and recreate it successfully with simple clay tools.
7-8th grade students learned about gyotaku (Japanese fish printing) and selected a fish to make a stamp of, using foam. Students learned about relief and block printmaking.
